Our Mission

AAPVI is a support group for parents of children with visual impairments. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization. AAPVI is under the umbrella of the National Association for Parent of Visually Impaired Children (NAPVI). The Region 4 NAPVI representative lives in Birmingham and is an active member of our AAPVI group. The support group has members with children who range in age from under one year through senior in high school. Other professionals in the field of blindness and low vision have approached the AAPVI President about becoming members of the support group. Blind professionals working in their chosen fields have approached the AAPVI President about becoming a member. AAPVI turns no one away.

AAPVI at Adaptive Aquatics - Save The Date

AAPVI will be at Adaptive Aquatics on Lay Lake in Wilsonville, AL on Sunday, Sept 11 from 10:30 AM until 3:00 PM. Please see the attached flyer for all the details. If you plan to attend, please RSVP by Wednesday, Sept 7, to Denise Mays or by texting/calling 256-503-5568. Denise will need to know the number in your party and the side dish you plan to bring for the pot luck lunch.
