Our Mission

AAPVI is a support group for parents of children with visual impairments. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The support group has members with children who range in age from under one year through senior in high school. Other professionals in the field of blindness and low vision have approached the AAPVI President about becoming members of the support group. Blind professionals working in their chosen fields have approached the AAPVI President about becoming a member. AAPVI turns no one away.

AAPVI at Adaptive Aquatics Sunday, September 9, 2018

On Sunday, September 9, from 10:30 AM until 3:00 PM, AAPVI will be at the Adaptive Aquatics facility in Wilsonville, AL for a day of fun in the water. Adaptive Aquatics is a 501c-3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the introduction, teaching, and advancement of adapted water skiing for disabled Children, disabled Adults and Wounded Warrior Veterans. They have a beautiful facility on Lay Lake. Joe Ray, the Adaptive Aquatics Executive Director, and a professional staff of instructors and trained volunteers, work with the children to successfully get them up on the adapted water skis and pull them behind a Master Craft ski boat on inner-tubes. At 12 Noon we will have a Pot Luck Picnic lunch. AAPVI will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and paper products.
